I'm sure some people do, but it's really not necessary and doesn't change it much. The stock IX DV is efficient up to 24-25psi (not quite 26), but it won't be what you want for 34psi. What turbo are you going to use for 34psi? Please don't say the stock turbo, because when combined with your other very newbish questions, that paints a really bad picture. If it's a really big turbo that can sustain 34psi with the proper internal and supporting mods, then you'll probably want to get a very strong DV like the Forge RS.

Warrtalon: I forget your current modlist...But what DV are you currently running? And what peak boost do you see on a daily basis with your meth tune?

Stock turbo:

Here is a link, I have a better FMIC, better cams, better exhaust, and better o2 housing.

Has been done, is being done. And people are doing it with GT35r's. Period. It breaks, I build.

Ohh, and I will video tape the dyno. To edit my original post, I am probably gonna spike to about 30-31 PSi.

I am wondering the same thing because i am going to run 30+ psi occasionally on my new turbo, and am stuck on a BOV solution. I already went down the Forge RS path, and won't try again; it flat out broke.

APS dual vent?

Talk to you boy Ivey, ask him about Gil's car. 35psi on stock motor (cams+headstuds) pump gas and meth. Daily driven. Tuned by "Ivey"

Tial is the best BOV you can buy. I should probably say best flowing. Its great at high boost.ALOT of fast cars use it. I have it on my 1g.

*sigh* That's exactly what I HOPED you wouldn't reference. Please read the whole thread, then get back to us. There was never any proof of it running 34psi (no MAP sensor log), and it only trapped 113 at the track when that much power should trap closer to _123_. This is exactly why I jump into threads like that, because our clueless noobs see that crap and think, "Oh yeah, I'm gonna run 34 psi on my stock turbo and make 450whp, yay!!!!" It's a terrible, vicious cycle, which is why I try to refute claims like that while demanding proof. We never got proof of the actual boost, and it performed very poorly at the track. Unfortunately, despite those outcomes, which it seems you didn't read (I assume), you still think it's normal to want to run 34 (or even 30-31) psi daily as if it's normal. You probably also didn't notice near the end of that thread where the guy from the shop admitted that the whole dyno session in question was only a result of the car owner asking to tune the car to the absolute ragged edge with the most boost possible. I highly doubt that's how you want to run your car daily.

Your claims of better exhaust, fmic, cams, and o2 are also very alarming. You don't really think there is that much difference between brands on those parts, do you? The exhaust brand isn't mentioned, the o2 brand isn't mentioned (best is the Ebay SS o2, which is cheapest anyway), they originall said stock cams but later said upgraded cams, and the FMIC you choose isn't going to make much difference (if any) on the stock turbo.

What do you mean "and people are doing it with GT35Rs"? What does that have to do with you doing it on the stock turbo? A GT35R is meant to do 34psi (with the proper supporting mods and fuel), but the stock turbo isn't meant to go much over 24psi, much less 34psi (or 30-31). Good luck with your build, but please try to keep things in perspective, especially when you're so new and don't know even the basics yet (based on previous threads).

35 psi on a stock bottem end is different from 35 psi on a stock turbo. Let alone the fact that boost doesnt blow about rotating assemblies. Bad tuning, knock, and elevated EGTs do.

Just because someone does it, that doesn't mean it's a good idea...

KOEvo, why did your Forge RS break (and how)? I've never heard of one randomly breaking. It works beautifully for the rest of us. The Tial is also awesome, but isn't it VTA?

ROFL! Dude, if you want that much boost, get a new turbo.
