Yeah after reading the title of this thread i was expecting a 400 plus awhp evo 9. I mean my car made 2 more ft/ib of tq. And i made 3 less horsepower on a stock turbo evo 8 on pump gas. With 20-21 psi to redline. I know you guys can only run 91 octane but from what ive read your boost levels are equivilant to mine. What did you use to tune, just a standard ecu FLASH.

This is not a realistic comparison - different fuel and different dyno.

until you have been on 91 ... you really do not know how good you have it. ask any east coast tuner that comes to the west coast and they will tell you how much they appreciate what they have to work with back home .... 91 really hurts us and our performance.

Im sure your numbers will improve if you follow the steps others on here have mentioned. Im still very interested in this setup. I have all the bolt ons and meth injection with no cat. Im hoping that either with the cosi or gsc cams and this turbo ill be at or above 425whp

Some IX's without cams or the turbo have put down similar numbers to yours on that dyno, but for 91 oct. and 23psi I'd say your numbers make sense. 350whp on that particular dynojet is definitely good but to get the most out of that turbo you need to run big boost. Run 100% meth and 28psi, then remove your HFC and I'm sure you'd be right around 400+whp.

400whp is able to be done on the ix with stock turbo and meth on 93.

The powerband looks pretty good, enjoy it.

Looks fine to me I think the issue is with the 91 oct throw is some meth or race gas mix where the tuner can play with the tune and crank up the boost you'll be well over 400whp.

Ok guys I have decided to go with Methonal injection. If this turbo flow rate is at 48.9lb/min at high boost, wouldn't I get close to 500whp? give or take around 480whp on pump + meth at 28-29psi?

Not quite 500whp. Buschur made 411whp on c-16 at 30+psi on their dyno which would be about 460whp on a dynojet. Meth and 28psi would make even less power than c-16, so I'd say the max you would put down would be around 430-440whp at TT. That turbo is maxed out right around 470whp.

I wouldn't mind having 470whp with spooling the same as the stock turbo. If you look at the graph the spool is similar to the evo 9 turbo. The blue line was on evo 9 turbo with bolts on.

I think the biggest problem your facing is running on 91 octane.

You cant make chicken salad out of chicken $hit & that's what 91 octane is, $hit!

What have other evo 9's been producing with cams & stock turbo @ TT while running 91 octane?

I dont believe your giving the tubo a fair shake, as your very limited on what you can do with 91 octane. Try 100 oct or C16 with a proper tune & my guess is you'll be stoked.

As you mentioned meth inj. is a great alternative.

Good luck.
