Thanx for the link bro!

How much power of the difference from a high flow cat which I have to a test pipe? I remember reading that the power wasn't that huge.

Solid 10whp if not more. Id say thats pretty huge for something so cheap.

Yeah, more like 10-15whp on an STOCK TURBO'D Evo. The bigger the turbo, the more of a restriction it is. Trying to pump all that air (exhaust) through a cat is rough. It not only causes backpressure, but limits how much you can boost on that 91oct and how aggressive the tune can be. It also would have saved you about $150 to get one instead of the HFC. You could probably sell the HFC for more than the cost of a test pipe, too...

Recks, that is not true. I'm not saying you can't make 500whp on a stock FMIC, but it will be a major restriction.

i cant tell how much hp removing the cat gives coz i dont have any proof on paper...but i can tell you this..the car will become a totally different animal..when boost hits...you feel it...it kinda snaps you back into the recaros...or maybe this is what i pretend to feel

seriously though...give it a try..its cheap...and DEFINATELY worth the time...

you will never look back..

Good luck and keep us posted.

After reading this whole thread and looking at that 3076 graph, here's my take:

Mr. Birdie should be happy with what he got.
a. He has the EXACT SAME power below 3500 as he did stock, but it keeps climbing when the stock setup stops flowing with gains of 40 to 50+ in a couple places.
b. It still looks stock (important on the west coast)
c. He'd KILL that 3076 in a race
d. Meth and / or race gas are only gonna make things better.
e. Definitely upgrade the FMIC. (offroad pipe may be tough in Cali)
f. Consider porting the intake and exhaust maniflods.
