Talking what it takes to get 400-450 whp?

Hello all.. Yes I know I'm a bit of a noob.. LoL

So this is what I have on the car;
Greddy uicp, hks anniversary cat-back, rsr downpipe. And greddy rs dv.

I am looking to get the cosi cams with valve train to up my rev limit... Or the gsc s1's.. Which cams would better my set up is still the debate I'm having.

I will get ams licp, and will be getting tuned by shiv for pump and race gas.. And boost controller

What should my realistic views on whp be for just the cams in with the rest of the stuff I have?

I also was thinking of getting the fp green turbo as long as it would get me to 450 whp...

What else do I need to get to achive my goal? Fuel pump? Fmic? And what else? Injectors? Sparkplugs? Intake?

Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.. I will be getting dyno'd on full functions mustang dyno..

Thanks! =P =)

Could you change your profile to show what you drive instead of using it to make a joke? It makes a big difference what year you have, but since you're mentioning MIVEC cams, I'm guessing you have a IX, although you also have a Greddy RS BOV, which would make no sense on a IX, so what do you have?

The BR stage 1, a bigger turbo, a larger FMIC, and meth.

It's not recommended to upgrade the turbo with only BR stg1 - you should go through stg4 before a turbo upgrade, just fyi.

Like Warr said...BR 1-4..........take your pic between the choices of the cosworth or GSC cams. You might want to look into the S2 since you are going to be trying to push a high level of HP. If you do the Evo Green, you will definitely need meth injection to make the numbers you want too.

You might want to search too. This has been covered a lot on these forums.

Walbro Fuel Pump. 272/280 cams, Forge WGA with 24psi internals. MBC, Meth Injection, Port All Stock Portals of Air/Exhaust (02 housing, manifolds, throttle body) and a Tune
would be nice but not neccesary: bigger FMIC with piping, Intake, 680cc injectors, adjustable cam gears

Ok, you have a IX. If you want 400whp (Dynojet-equivalent), then get all the bolt-ons, cams, and get an aggressive tune on race gas with 26-28psi. If you want 450whp, you need something like the EvoGreen, a 50-trim, or BR3065 (among others) with less aggressive tuning and either race gas or alky. I don't think you'll hit 400 or 450 on your pump gas tune.

if you have a 9, get int, tbe, meth injection, a tune, and if you really want to secure the 400whp get a 35 shot on nitrous and that will put you well over...

tony, on stock turbo you will make the same power as phet made, with stage 1 (tbe and tune on pump gas) 300 ( on mustang dyno). On race gas you will make 335. SInce there are so few cammed 9s making guaranteed gains, its hard to determine just how much hp you will gain over those numbers after cam install. Most likely it will be arround 15 whp. 350 whp on a muctang dyno on stock trubo is pretty decent in my opinion with such little money invested and a conservative tune.

Getting 400 whp on a mustang dyno on stock turbo is just very difficult unless you want to sacrifice reliability, and i know you dont want that. Plan on some kind of turbo upgrade if you want more power than that. Not only will it make over 400, but it will be far more reliable than trying to push a stock turbo that hard.

Nah I know I won't hit it on pump.. That's why I said race gas.. Were can I get a 50 trim? I don't wanna lose to much of spool time.. Spooling around 3500 would be nice... My friend has a 35r and spools to late for me.. He has a evo 9 too..

I was figuring around that much if not a bit more.. On full functions on pump tho or on race?

Get all the bolt ons + 50 trim with 780 injectors (fuel pump obviously) on the stock ecu and you should be around 400-420 on pump (dynojet). 430-450 if you run alky. Either way get rid of the rs bov and don't get cams or the fp green turbo. Power you get out of them will not justify the price. If you want to beef up your valvetrain and throw in some head studs for a better state of mind you may want to just throw in an exhaust cam. And the most important part is... GET A GOOD TUNER!

yeah 50 trim alone is like 4,000 unless u want to spend a leg on parts. why dont u want to do meth for? it deff ups ur h/p good thing to have. my buddy on his evo mr 9. made 401 with cams cam gears turbo back with test boost controler fuel pump intake . and maybe few other little mods just need the right person to tune it who is going to tune ur car for u??

Wow.. I was really ready to buy cams but no one has really proven worthy.. Cosi was my choice but I was waiting on the car to get tuned by shiv.. haven't tuned it yet.. Now what's should I get.. Just get tuned by shiv on what I have?
