What does that kit include? Is it just the flange, or is there other stuff included?

i have a question... sorry i'm new to all of this but i was just wondering if someone would be kind enough to enlighten me

does recirculating BOV "psssssft" noise more quiet than BOV VTA's?
and which one makes a better noise? the HKS SSQV BOV or the Greddy Type-S?

Thanks

People with a HKS SSQV!

Do youget a lot of backfiring ?!

People with th eGreddy...if you go recic...what king of sound are you going to hear?!

@ silver Surver

So basically the HKS SSQV is build for VTA and the Greddy is build fo rrecir even if you can use both valves for either purpose?!

Possible fix

I understand that the recirc port is blocked and that the ECU still reads the air flow as actually going to it. Would reducing the spring tension on the BOV possibly help this ? I reset the light by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and I am going to see if it comes on again. If it does I am going to take it to the dealer. Will they tell me it's my fault for installing the BOV ? The one I bought is supposed to be for the EVO VII and even came with directions specific to my car although they are completley Japanese. I just went from the pictures. Is there anywhere that has the directions in English or should I just call Blitz ? Any help would be immensley appreciated.

Thanks

I dont know if you did or not, but make sure you unplugged the negitive on your battery after you installed it. This resets your ECU (engine Control unit). And this may fix the problem. Many people had the same problem after installing thier new air filter

If you stick with the stock air intake box, any BOV venting to atmosphere would give you a louder "ppssstt" sound than the Greedy w/recirc. But if you replace your air intake with a cone-type one, then you'll hear the BOV, even if it's recirculating.

I have the Greddy Type-S with the K&N Typhoon air intake and the "psssst" is pretty loud.

thanks but I'm stilli trying on deciding whether to get the Greddy or HKS SSQV... but I'm most likely going to go with the Recirculating type of setup

I finally got the Greddy TypeS installed - so far everything seems fantastic. I just wanted to check with some of the gurus to make sure the driving characteristics are correct:

My drivability has been improved tenfold (no more of the part throttle bucking). I've got a HKS intake pipe, but a stock intake box. So when the turbo spools you can hear it pretty loudly. When you let off boost when it builds pretty high (15psi+), it will "chirp" and it sounds like a puny VTA BOV. Currently, I have it at around 2 turns from where it meets the spring plate. If I tighten it more, like 3-4 turns, I start getting part throttle bucking (similar feel to stock DV) and the BOV doesn't chirp when I let off boost. Either way, it appears to be holding the same amount of boost on WOT...

It would seem that tightening it would improve response, but I guess Silver Surfer disproved that on the dyno. Does this mean the TypeS is working as it should? (I went back to about 2 turns, so I'm getting the chirp on throttle lift, but I don't hear any whistling).

I've been messing with my type-s for over a week now. I have the single large spring in the bov now and all I can get is about 16psi. I put the stock bov back in and back to 20 (UTEC holds it at 20 ). The only thing I haven't done is wrap the fittings in teflon tape. You think that would make the difference? Let me know, this thing is starting to annoy me greatly.

Works better then stock, I have it, kinda loud, but works better then stock as it opens under less vaccum then stock but holds more boost.

Alot people here want BOV simply for the sound, as far as power increase, some ppl say it decrease, some say it increase by 3 or 5hp but wouldn't it be alot easier just to get the boost controller (simply holds the boost at higher RPM) and keep the stock (BOV) for better drivability without having certain issues such as engine died, stalling etc....Please post your opinions thank you

Anyone tested the MR valve to see how much boost it will hold?
