David, you're correct. The seat mounting PLATES that the side mounts bolt to aligned perfectly with the car body's existing holes and studs. NO DRILLING THE CAR. I only had to drill 2 holes per plate for the side mounts to bolt to the mounting plate and that was the back two bolts of the side mounts. I drilled 2 3/8" holes and bought 4 short bolts with washers and nuts. Today I bought 2 nuts for the seat belt latches. 2 M10X1.50 OR 7/16 X 20 pitch. I used the 7/16 x 20 and found them at Lowes. Not metric, but the bolts don't know that.

Heres a picture of the back side of the seats. You can see the back two bolts that mount the sides plates to the bottom plate. The bottom plate (that has the white stickers still on them) are made perfectly for mounting to the body.

Looks Great Tom. Awesome build! From reading I can see you gave the RS to your son and got another one 'n decked it out. Must be hair raising to drive at full tilt eh? The beetle must feel slow now.

Naw, the BARtuning Beetle is definitely not slow, just slowER than the beast. That's exactly what happened. Tony got the first IX just as I had ordered the 20G-LT and injectors. It's now pretty much complete with Full boltons, ARP, exhaust cam, 3" TBE, Water/meth injection, etc. Pretty strong, and of course Buschur did the build on it too.

I guess I am ordering those seats for my car tomorrow. Crap more money spent.

Are they comfortable? Will the factory seat belts work?

The factory belts work, but are snapped in OVER the seat, not through the slots. They really are comfortable. You feel 'locked in' very similar to the stock seat. I'd buy them again. I'm glad it's you spending money instead of me.

Yes, E85 is available in at least 2 stations. Now, it's decision time for my son's IX, before the tuning session.

Great power!!

That graph looks super nice and didn't want to imagine how it will feel on the road. Watch out that traction

thanks memo3. Winter is a tough time to get a car like this back. You want to go for a cruise, but I'd hate to hit water/ice at the wrong time. Oh well.

Very sincere thanks guys. I spent a little more time on the video. A lot longer, but better insight into a day at Buschur Racing. This video was shot the day I picked it up. VERY COOOOOOLLLLLD }<()
Hope you enjoy it.

Somewhat OT but does your seibon trunk fit as good as it looks?

That's one badass car

All areas fit very well, except the driver's side front corner is SLIGHTLY curved down. I think it can be raised with a little heat and rubber mount place under the corner. Notice that it doesn't have an outside lock. Only opens from inside release.
