Different schools of thought. Mine and Buschurs thought was to keep piston speed to a minimum and run higher RPMS for the high end horsepower. Notice how flat the hp is from 7700 up. Even though it only shows to 8300, power is still going to be there at 9000. Can't run those rpms with a stroker and keep it together for very long. Nothing wrong with the 2.3L either, if it's going to be mostly street driven. The stroked motor will help with the low end torque. I could easily add NOS to spool up a little quicker but not for me. I'm proud of SharkBite's car too. We BOTH have something to be proud of.

I think on one of your other threads we have already seen what there capable with a better before and after scenerio, something like 11 or 13whp improvement.
Also, congrats on the nice setup...
My point is that on fully built IX engines running Gt37 with the Cosworth cams - the power production is similar if not greater than fully built VIII engines with cams

Hence the cams are very good

I am amazed at these insane numbers being pumped out of a small .63 back housing over and over again.

I agree TKMotorsports, it just proves that the correct combination of parts is important. In our case, I think the .63 is helped by the larger exhaust. I've looked closely at what David did on the tune and we discussed it over the phone. No question that we left quite a bit of horsepower in it, but felt it was safer to run conservative for a while, then maybe explore a little deeper as we become more familiar with the IX and what it likes. If David had been going strictly for bigger numbers, the AFR's could have been leaned out and maybe more tweaking on the timing. I may have to pry it from DB's hands when I get there. He definitely does a great job.

I know, with my luck DB's eating Mexican food and drinking a cerveza and I'm in Oklahoma with a 1031 mile drive ahead of me.

I'm extremely pleased with results. Believe it or not, the tune is a supersafe tune based on the 10.9-11.3 AFR's.

Very nice numbers, there inst a NOS set up on steve (sharkbites) IX but he is also using Cosworth Cams and they are working out great. Great work over at Buschur.

Steves manifold should be recoated by tomarrow morning and the 44mm tail will aslo be on there. Hopefully shooting for 750hp by tomarrow nite.

By the way SharkBite2000, congrats on your great build. I bet it's like be 16 again, every time you start it up. I'm 56 so I don't think I can remember that far back, but I can at least knock 20 years off of my memory. Have fun!

Tom, the car runs great makes rediculous power and is going to be one hell of a ride. I say you paint the doors and trunk, try to make it a sleeper(good luck with that seing as there is no muffler and is just a smidge on the loud side ) and go have some fun.

This is crazy power on our dyno. David's car for example made 542 whp, weighs over 100 pounds more than Tom's car and ran 9.97 at 142.32 mph on radial tires.

This car should be easily capable of mid 9 second runs.

The tune is for sure conservative. The AFR's at 8300 rpm were down to 10.9:1.

We have no direct comparison of stock EVO9 cams against the Cosworths that are in the car but being able to make 645 whp with this car shows something is working.

We are waiting on some new cams to install, with a simple cam change this car should easily exceed 700 whp on our dyno.

Also, yes, the MIVEC is fully functional on this car.
