Ohnos, emergency!!!1 It amazes me how people have a car like the Evo yet don't even know the symptoms of a slipping clutch.

Maybe he's not used to driving standards or never had a car with enough power to ruin the clutch. At least he's learning.

Oh, and Cusco FTW!!

The Evo is the first car I've had that had more power than the clutch had durability. I've had a bunch of manual tranny vehicles and put a bunch of miles on them, but the Evo is the first one that ever needed a new clutch. I bet it's the same for many.

That's my point - it amazes me that people are using the Evo as their entry point to driving a manual. Most normal people have driven several beaters while growing up before getting into a near supercar, and it doesn't take a powerful car to wear out a clutch - it's something that wears out on all manual cars.

Also, if he were learning, he would have found on his own that it was his clutch by reading through the tons and tons of other examples where people said the same thing. I'd say he hasn't learned a thing until just this moment.

exedy would be your best bet...but if you like your stock feel and you dont really plan on putting power to the ground then just get a stock one...

Anyone else think it could be the clutch?!

As for killing a clutch. You should see what a VW TDI can do to a stock clutch after chip and injectors... Going from 150 to 325lb ft does bad stinky things to a stock POS clutch.
