It was very easy to do. The emblems just pulled right off. I still have to trim the end of the letter "O" just a little...

But why is this in the Lancer Evolution Tech Forum?

 

This may sound silly but...I hate the word "evolution". It brings to mind the whole Darwin theory thing. I wasn't sure which forum to post this in. Where should it have gone?

What is japan doing about the Evolution VIII?

I know the Evo VII rear badging is awsome, butare they keeping with the same style of badging for the VIII. If so that is what I would be trying to get my hands on.

 

JDM Evo 8 did not keep the Evo 7 badging. They use the same badge design as the USDM ones except the put "Lancer" on one side and the "Evolution" on the other side of the trunk.

Yea, I will just be putting the "Evolution" JDM badge on, and not the VII portion... I think it will look sweeeet. Man, if I could only bust for some JDM taillights now!

I just found out if you email the guys at http://www.japanparts.com/index.html , you can prob get the badge for $58 shipped from japan, a bit expensive but consider it's been shipped from japan and its a JDM part. I could accept the price.

 

If you take a look at any UK-spec Evos (FQ-300, etc.) they have an emblem much like the Evolution VII, but with the complete Evolution VIII on it. Nice slanted font, etc. If someone knows where I can get my hands on that, I would be VERY interested. Also, you could take the Evolution VII badging and add another "I" to it. To remove the emblems, did you heat them first or just slide a flat edge to pop them?? I hate that lame US-spec script.... Just a thought, but maybe the Porsche "Turbo" script might look good down there....
