head question

hi guys I am pretty new to the forum and I was wondering if I can get some good advice here.
I was wondering who would make a good aftermarket head, because I over heated my current head and warped it due to a water hose breaking off.
my real question is who would make a nice decent head that is not too aggressive for everyday driving but can give me some whp, because they are charging me about $3500 for a stock new head...
thank for looking (I am sorry if I posted in the wrong place)

or you can try these guys, they're local to you.

www.enginelogics.com

Ask for Chris, he's the owner, and he's knowledgeable about heads. Only drawback is, he'll rework your head, so you're car will be down for awhile. I'ts not like they keep spares on the shelf like the shops listed above ^^^^^. Chris is from South Africa, has an accent and has some hilarious stories about monkeys at waterholes, and baboons with snakes...... But the guy knows his stuff.

Consider a new, ported head from ISP Racing. It's roughly the same price as a new stock head, and NO core is required.

as it turns out, I have checked several places to see if they can deck my head correct? but they won't be able to because they would have to deck 15 tenths of it.
so maybe if I could find a bare head, (but this is the only place I an post...don't know why)
And the part that makes me mad the most is that I was not even racing, I don't have any crazy mods, and the extended mechanical insurance does not cover the hoses (because they are items that deteriorate) and a hose causing the over heating they said that is my responsibility....f***ing insurance!
sorry for the rambling...
I just need to know where I can just get a bare head around here...
thanks you guys

warped head

You might want to call Motorhead in Stafford, Tx. They're off Beltway 8. Aluminum heads can be straightened then milled. Mine was 14 thou out and it came back fine. He has a nice Serdi head machine and he does good work. Gillman Mitsu gave me his name.

you can get it decked and replace it with a thicker headgasket to compensate.

+1 above.. Since it seems you aren't looking for the heavy modding, maybe try and find a stocker and have it upgraded thru guys listed above.. This is assumed only due to the fact you mentioned you dont have any crazy mods.. hope it works out for you.

As for not being able to post anywhere else, well you're going to have to make a few more posts here before you can move on to the other forums.. Good luck!!
