Intake blew off ..... Need Help Plz

just had the clutch replaced in my car, and the other day i noticed it runnin a bit weird, opened the hood to find black silt on the turbo.... seems to have leaked at a bolt that was missing on my exhaust. on the header mount that connects to the 02 housing, i replaced the bolt, then yesterday im driving, and one of the plugs on the top of the header blows out. theres 2 pressure release plugs or somethin on it. XS Power header by the way. So i put a plug in the header to temp seal it, i was driving the car today to have it fixed and i heard a loud blow off sound, (not from the blow off valve, sounded like air escaping) i opened the hood to find the tube that connects the intake to the manifold had blown off... the clamp broke or was gone... the car of course wouldnt drive without the intake on and came to a violent stop. I reattached the hose with a new clamp, theres way to much back pressure or somethin in the motor.... i have no idea, new blow off valve ? any help is appreciated

who installed your clutch!?

Do you have a boost gauge? That will tell you how much "backpressure" you're seeing at the intake manifold. Whether the engine is flowing well or not is a different issue, but your boost gauge should tell you how much pressure blew off your intake piping. I'm assuming you mean the black rubber tubing that snakes past the battery and connects to the intake manifold/throttle body????

Without a clamp, there's no way that tubing is going to stay connected to the throttle body under boost.

so you blew the upper intercooler pipe off that connects to the throttlebody? thats not uncommon at all. just make sure the hose clamps are on very tight. or go buy some t-bolt clamps which are considerably stronger the the worm gear style clamps.

happens to the most of us. scared the **** out of me first time. the first time was after modding the car and turnong up the boost, the second time after cams and turning up the boost a bit more.

even the stock car has boost spikes of 1.4 bar, so thats why it blows get some good clamps (or tighten the stock ones pretty good) and replace any of the hoses (if needed). I had all my intercooler connections checked after it blew for the second time. I also ended up replacing the closest hose to the intake manifold with silicone hoses as it came out twice...

spray some hairspray on the inside of the coupler and clamp that bad boy down...or you can get some t-bolt clamps

that will def fix the problem
