you speaking of anti-lag. there are differnt forms of anti-lag setups. one uses actual hardware that sprays fuel into the manifold. it relies on the hot manifold to ignite the fuel before the turbo, which in turn spools the turbo between shifts, but the extreme heat and pressures that build up in the turbine section puts a lot of wear on the turbo. The second uses(sometimes in conjunction with the above stated system) a ecu based system. By retarding the ignition timing and adding a bunch of fuel between shifts, the ignition cycle is delayed to the point that it happens in the turbine section instead of the combustion chamber.

There is no need for a anti-lag setup on a supercharger because a supercharger is driven by a belt which is directly related to engine speed, therefore, the engine speed regulates the boost the compressor is producing. There is no lag, boost climbs as engine speed increases.

its called misfire system... it keeps the rpm high, so you are always in peak boost range. some people in japan use it for road racing (yes, same thing they have in initial D) its extremely hard on your motor and turbo though.

Gizzmo Launch Interface

View Details

Product Description

Gizzmo's launch interface integrates with the Gizzmo Tach Recall Shift light to enable the fully adjustable launch control function. The launch control function induces sequential misfire events at the desired RPM set by the user.

In a turbo application such as the EVO, having the throttle open while inducing misfire increases the velocity and density of exhaust gases, and in doing so allows the turbo to spool up and generate boost without load. This results in boost being generated before launching, therefore allowing a vehicle to launch with considerably more power. The launch interface is activated by the engagement of the clutch and therefore allows flat shifting (the ability to change gears without removing your foot from the throttle). With the clutch engaged the RPM will pull back to the launch RPM previously set by the user in order to avoid over-revving. This allows the engine to remain in boost while moving through the gears. Launch control can benefit naturally aspirated cars by giving a consistent launch RPM for the best result every time, and enable quicker gear changes through flat shifting.

TECH INFO: Fully adjustable launch control, Adaptive auto detect software, Interfaces up to 6 coil channels, Sequentially induced misfire technology.

TECH TIP: To fully utilize all the options of this unit, we recommend using with the Gizzmo Tach Recall Shift light

Part # G0913
