Quick Question

With my few mods listed below, do I need to have my car tuned, or is it ok to wait until I get new cams mbc, etc.

**Current Mods**
K&N Typhoon intake, ACT Xtreme ACT prolite, Buschur Racing TBE, Walbro 255

Thanks for all replies~~

....

1) That is the absolute worst intake you could use on the Evo. It is horrible and should not be used under any circumstance, because it has a flawed design in the MAF pipe. Also, if you run ANY intake, you have to get tuned.

2) Why do you have a fuel pump but no MBC and no tune? I can't even imagine why you'd think to add one. The point of the fuel pump is to provide enough fuel for running higher boost, and you can't add one without getting tuned for it. I'm guessing your car is really struggling right now with that combo of mods.

3) If you're getting cams soon, then you can wait a little while, but if not, then do this:
- Remove and destroy the intake (or sell it, but that's kinda mean to the next guy)
- Install stock intake
- Purchase and install a good MBC
- Purchase and install a JDM MR DV, IX DV, Forge Evo15 DV, or Forge RS DV in place of your plastic stocker
- Get a eflash or mail-in flash from Dynoflash

Your car will be very happy with you if you do these things.

The K & N and walbro were already in it when I bought the car recently, so the owner before me might have got it tuned. I heard that the typhoon was a good intake so I just left it in...but you know more than me so I will probably either have a different one installed or get the stock one back on soon. But thanks a lot for the list, I'll definetly try those things out and see how much better my car runs
Thanks a lot for your help

do you guys think it did any damage having that intake on? and if so, what kind of damage could it cause? the car itself has 13k miles on it.

No damage will be caused by running that intake. Its just proven to suck big time. Sell that thing on ebay. Screw the guy who buys it, he should have done his homework.
