ok guys, anyone that has an RS Intake by HKS, provide me with some feedback, im running on my stock DV, and since last summer, everytime i let off the accelorater, it makes this weird wooshing sound, something that it never did in the 1 1/2 years prior to last summer that i had it on.....as soon as the accelorater is let off, the car seems like it just hits a wall, should i clean the MAF or could it be the valve, im chanign that out for IV BOV this weekend, see what that does, so anyone know wats up??

 

if the maf is gummed up then yeah clean it.

I make the wooshing sound since day one.

 

So you have the RS intake with the stock DV? Thats what I have and it makes quite a bit of woosh between shifts when in boost.

 

same here. to my knowledge it's normal.

 

That sound you are hearing is the DV blowing off into the intake. It's similar to a BOV venting to atmosphere, but instead its recirculating into the intake. You will hear this sound when you have a aftermarket solid intake pipe with cone filter, as they don't deaden the noise.

I have the HKS RS intake and my problem is in 5th or 6th gerat if i am just building boost and go to shift the car like stutters really bad like the valve is opened and wont close, and the car starts to die down a bit, its quite odd, i might be explaining it weird to lol but my car has done that since the day i installed the intake when i only had 1k miles so its not my maf i know that

 

I have the same intake on, both tuned and untuned and I've never had that problem

 

well, it used to make that sound but its just louder now and like u said, when boost levels are high, it feels like a hit a wall when i press the acelerator, before it only made that noise when i shifted, and a little letting off the accelerator but it just like stutters or something when i left off the accelerator now
