Yes, Most of after market Intakes do cause MAF reading to be read higher or fluctuate. If this car has no probelms, This car need to be tunned to compensate the higher MAF readings. Or put the stocker back on and test it again! I have never heard of perfect turbo back installation losing power on stock ECU map!

So I can run my TBE on stock maps, stock 02 readings, etc. if I dont have a air intake?

You're not likely to notice a loss if you are running on stock maps, IMO. It's when you've tuned the map up to a particular load level, and then you suddenly go over that load level. So now you are moving from a well tuned map to a stock map, which can cause a measurable loss in power. For example, you've added 3 degrees of timing at your max load level, then you go beyond that and timing suddenly drops back to stock levels. Etc.

One thing I'd like to add as well, it's "tuning" and "timing," not tunning and timming.

Sorry for the new and basic questions but what do load levels mean exactly?

It's the ECU's interpretation of what the current load is on the motor. On a MAP based system, it will be based on manifold pressure. On MAS/MAF cars, it will be based on the airflow reading from the sensor. The ECU looks up the IOT value based on this load value and RPM, among other trim factors.

Yes that could be true but that was not changes between runs. The only thing that was changed between runs was the exhaust.

How would i tune for the intake? I have read a thread on rescaling the maf tables, and would this be what i have to do? Do i have to rescale every point on the scaling graph menu?

Does this allow more stock like load levels to be hit?

i'm not a tuner nor do i pretend to by giving anyone tuning tips but it's almost like the exhaust allows the air to escape faster therefor letting the motor pull air in faster past the MAF. maybe with the stock exhaust the intake didn't cause much of a problem, but the combo of both did. i don't know, just rambling off thoughts as they come to me haha

I'm not really sure if this thread is basically over or if your still having troubles...

If your not, I'd love to open it up to a really basic discussion- I'm new to datalogging as a whole and am trying to figure this out... can anyone redirect me or explain exactly what load levles, MAF, etc. are and how to read them?

Not trying to steal your thread, I can start a new one if you'd like.

Haha, no problem man, dont even worry about it. If you want to learn about tuning, i think thats great. Spend some time in ECUflash forums. Learn about the basics and it will def. make sense.

If you buy a tactrix cable and download the free ecuflash program, and the 25 dollar evoscan program, you can datalog and tune all you want.

Its hard to give you answers if you dont have any questions yet, so i suggest you do some research and write all the questions down that arise and ill see if i can help you.
