full bolton--ic helping any?

Ok, been searching for quite a bit of time the last two days regarding dyno numbers and intercoolers. Total mod list includes:3in full exhaust,10.5hs,272s,cone intake,mr dv,licp, alchy, act hdss. Car is running great with the colder weather. Now, I want to have more so I just picked up a buschur deluxe intercooler for cheap and want to throw it on. I was dynoed last june in a 93 degree dyno room at turbo trix and put 373 392 down. My power was falling off around 6800rpms to 7200rpms. It would fall from peak 373----to 350. I would like to know how much this ic would gain at my boost pressure(28psi) and if i would really need a custom tune for it. I have seen threads saying that its not needed or you should but i want a definite answer if there is one. Injectors and bolt on turbo will be coming before summer so i will be using it regardless. I just want a heads up on my situation. Thank you for all the feeback

Well, I and others have said this already many times, but I'll repeat it since you can't seem to find the info. With the mods you have and running that much boost, it's a good idea to upgrade the FMIC. I don't think anyone can give you a number for how much it helps, but I can tell you that it would help with all the heat generated by running such high boost, and it would help you not heatsoak so quickly like you do on the stocker if you're racing.

It's especially a good idea, since you're upgrading the turbo anyway, so I'm not sure what info it is you need.

So i will most likely see some gains then. The tune part is what confuses me also. I see answers saying yes and no. Will i be able to drive the car like i do now without a custom tune? Will this help my power stay flatter up top, too? Will i need the a/f touched up at all? Thank you

Well, like anything else that changes airflow and intake charge, to get the most out of it, you should tune it. I don't know why people are averse to retuning for optimization. If you run the FMIC, you'll be fine, but you won't be optimal.

this is true no sents in tunning twice as mutch but warr is right to get the most efficency out of any mod that inclueds turbo air charge and fueling must be tunned to do so.
