HINT: 25psi on pump 91 = BAD

Most likely, 22psi on pump 91 should be fine (3rd gear); you'll notice some variation with increased load (i.e. 5th gear pull or uphill); and of course with changes in the weather, during which you should titrate the mbc settings to keep your boost spike constant.

I'd probably do some searching on socalevo to get a better perspective of what most Evo IX's run on 91 octane. Good luck...

i only have stock gauge, but interpolet after the 1.5bar it looks like a 1.6 spike and then hold between 1.4 and 1.5 on a 3rd gear pull. so is the spike the concern or the holding psi?

I believe most in Cali are running 23/24 peak, but that is with a really good tune...

why not just datalog the car and see if you're getting knock? Of course, as the weather changes, the knock threshold changes too which changes the amount of boost you can run.
