The only thing that comes to mind is maybe getting a new gear set cryoed, maybe.
I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
After doing a few auto-x events last year, I don't think about drag racing one bit.
This year I hope to do a couple road course events. The real bonus is that on the street, I have no desire to speed at all anymore.

This is almost exactly what I've said in the past on multiple occasions. I concur 100% on all points, especially the bonus.

Any kind of racing beats up on your car! Different racing = different parts break.

If you don't beleive that then your kidding yourself.

Road racing and auto crossing abuses your car more than drag racing.

My IX MR will soon be in the 300-350whp range, and probably will be road race a couple of times per year. Think I have to worry about that? I think I might convert to 5 speed BEFORE my 6 breaks, so I can sell it to a GSR owner. Do you think this would be a good idea? cost effective?

Road racing, yes, but not autocrossing. Autox is nothing...

If you find someone who will actually pay full price for your 6spd, then definitely take the money and get a built 5spd from Shep. It will cost less for that then your 6spd is worth in stock form. If you were going to do a straight swap, then eh...maybe not.
