Obviously the word has not reached all the evo owners as I am still getting cars in every day to be tuned which have very poorly designed exhuasts

It seems that the internet parts whoring outfits are pushing the idea to customers that "any 3" exhuast will make the same power"

I believe my testing has shown that this is not true
I'm sorry, its just funny to me (and apparently a few others) thats all.

And you say that you put the buschur exhaust on and " no tuning , same boost , same air/fuel" Wouldn't the air fuel lean out if the new exhaust did infact flow that much better??
Don't get me wrong im not saying that buschur's parts don't work well. Because they do. Its just we get it already, Can Dave get you to stand out infront of his shop in a giant spark plug suit too??

second edition...lol

Good test Dynoflash, it would make sense that an exhaust with less restriction would make more power..

I'll tell you what its still good info for people who might not know! I run the original 3in slip fit on my car purchased 3 years ago, there might be nicer systems out ther like the v- bands and titanium exhausts and what not but i can't beat the performance of the buschur. If your spending cash and looking for power why run an inferior exhaust??????????

Again this is why I dont like AL. Not to say he's not a good tuner cause he is, but they way he talks to people is not that good. The customer was told by the dealer what he was suppose to have, and he probally has no idear about it. An Al talks down to the customer like he is an idiot. What he should do is just explain to people what is going on. He did the same thing to my car cause I was running a DENT SPORT custom intake tube. This guy is there spending his hard earned cash on Al. An Al shoots his car down. An to pick up 30 whp on just exhaust is hard to beleive???

the greddy sp2 has been known for being quiet and not making as much power as more free-flowing exhausts, this has been proven on many other platforms other than just the evo. i'd like to see the buschur vs. a worthy exhaust such as AMS. TurboXS, Greddy EVO2 or TI, etc etc

I wouldnt be surprised if the car had just a catback Greddy exhaust. Al said he put the Buschur turboback on. Well ya, your going to pick up 20hp if you add downpipe and test pipe. Duh.

Like Steve said, Greddy doesnt make a downpipe. The question was asked, but it was sidestepped by Al. Was there a downpipe on the car in the first test? Was there a test pipe, HFC, or stock cat?

IF this was done Turboback for turboback, then I would say hey cool, good job. Dave does tests that way, straight up. He is a serious asset to this community, and Im not knocking him or his parts. But if your going to run tests Al, you need to be clear about what your changeing on the car.

Talk about biased testing. What ever happened to the suspected boost leak? Was that solved in the process of changing the exhaust?

20psiMR,

Here is what Al said on page 1, "The down pipe was a 3" down pipe - I assume also greedy"

So before jumping him you should read the thread. Steve then pointed out that Greddy does not make a 3" downpipe or cat. It doesn't matter, the car had a 3" downpipe on it and 3" cat.

I think Al was quite clear on the test. He took of a competitors full 3" turbo back and replaced it with our full 3": turbo back and the car gained nearly 30 whp with no other changes. Seems fairly clear to me.

Notec,

Al didn't post this, he overlooked it. He did do a boost leak check and didn't find any leaks. I only know this because he called last night to give me the outcome of the test and explained the entire story to me.

As a side note.....

Al said he continued to tune the car after the initial back-to-back test was done. He told me he was unable to extract anymore power from the car even with more tuning. The fact is the power remained up almost 30 whp with the change.

Hell the customer was happy enough he refused to remove the exhaust and bought it/took it with him. That should say something. This exhaust was no really for sale as Al has been keeping it around for doing testing.

Anyway, you are going to have supporters, critics and just plain haters everywhere. I don't see anyone else out there taking their time to test anything at all...........how about some appreciation for the people that do.

You can also bank on the fact that while Al and I both can come across like a dick at times we are both honest. If he or I are doing testing we will not bother to mess with the dyno to change the results. The results of this testing he has done has varied too much to be just changing dyno parameters. I have also asked him straight up if he has tried to mess the results and he has said, "Absolutely not." If I knew he was I would not support his posts.

AMS isn't made in the US? I honestly don't know but assumed they were since they build all of their other parts
