To put it into perspective, his stock turbo/pump gas VIII is out-trapping stock:

Gallardo, SL55/E55, new M5/M6, 996 Turbo, (aaargh... bench racer in me starting.. to... take... over...)

stock 996 TT's trap 115; maybe you're thinking of the 996 TT w/ X50.

trap speeds > peak dyno numbers

My dyno is WHP. Not bhp.

My car's trap speed indicates the dyno is reading dead on. A lot of people on the same dyno made less power and go slower at the track. Enough said.

I know, I though he was talking about my numbers You have one fast car, so hats off to you on picking the right parts, good tune (and a good car)!

Awesome numbers....I am just trying to decide how / what is getting you there....I have pretty much most of the same mod's, except the Cosworth Cams and am running a Catalytic converter....I only am seeing ~315 whp / 315 wtq and that is with 26 psi peak boost tapering very nicely....Thoughts / advice?

I am getting mixed up here - you are asking me or Soon2BEVO? I think if your goal is to have the car as fast as possible, you should ask him. I am picking the parts for my car to maximize the stock turbo on pump gas WITHOUT making the car too loud. For example, I am running HKS Silent although it might rub me of a few horses (I cut the part where it tapers and fabbed a custom decat pipe). Even on the intake, which I know will net a few horses I am gonna try and see if I can handle all the noise

The fastest local pump gas stock turbo evo that I know has basically HKS manifold, intercooler, o2, full decat exhaust, intake, injectors, light weight pulleys, wheels tires, clutch and a bunch of other **** I have forgotten. last time I talk to the guy he had over 60 pieces of various mods on the car. of course a very important factor is to get the best gas you can and tune it well (& agressive if you want the last ponies) I can tell you from looking at all the shop cars here that to get the last 15hp on the stock turbo costs lots of money / trial and error of parts and a focus on performance instead of noise levels etc...

What type of dyno did you do the 315whp on? What is your full list of mods and what gas are you using, and what tune. The cat is killing you. You will gain a solid 15whp right off the bat with getting a cat delete.

Soon2BEVO, I PMd you asking about which parts you are using in case you would like to keep it confidential. I am particularly interested in the intake, FMIC, UICP - the stuff I am planning on getting already. Of course, if you have any other secret souce mods, you can share those as well

Thanks!
This was on a Mustang Dyno (500 series I believe)...Jestr tune (conservative 11.5 - 10.8 AFRs)...Mods are in my signature -- basically 02 housing and TBE w/ Cat and Nisei LICP....Thanks in advance for the advice...

On most Mustang Dynos 315 whp is about 350+ on a DynoJet. I would guesstamate
12-15% variance bettween the two Dynos.

^^^ +1 what was said above regarding the cat delete and the Mustang dyno.

Now, are you spiking 26psi on pump 93, or on pump/alky?

As far as this thread goes, to get the most out of the stock turbo - I had always planned to get all of the bolt-ons, then tinker around with the ebc settings that one of the NC EvoM members had posted about (TURBODAWG?)...

said he was able to use his modified ebc to keep boost steady/no tapering up to 7k+ rpm...

Something to think about, even if it just tapered less.
