nice write up AMS...

 

JAM has a very extensive sheet with their builds...

warm up between 2000-3000 rpm for 20 mins, let sit, check for leaks, allow to sit overnight, retorque all mani bolts etc....

change oil... run for another 20 mins, change oil... then 250 miles low load, varying rpm..

break in is done on sae 30 wt Shell rotella (lots of zinc)

then 10w-30 non syn for the first 250 miles.... or 20w-50

then after 250, good to go...

I say start it up, check for leaks and go drive it like you normaly would.

a lot of the break-in is determined by the machined qualities and components.

different bore finishes require different routines!
