Also be aware that the lobe centerlines on the GSC 272s are not the same as the HKS 272s...so if you set your car with the GSC 272s straight up, they will be more advanced than the HKS units. HKS 272s @ +1/-1 are roughly the same as the GSC 272s @ -.5/-2.5, per Ted B.
Any idea with the GS C S1, which are not the 272s, when are they straight up, which is how I currently run them, any Idea how the are advanced or retarded compared to HKS 272's, or they the same as above?

Presently I have the GSC 272s on the car. They are coming off about 2 weeks after I put them on after a few pms with Greg @ GSC about the S1s. Also, Nils had great things to say about them too.

I asked Ted B. which would be a good cam set-up for the S1's with good top end but without sacrificing tip-in or torque too much. Basically a mostly street/sometimes track set-up. He told me -1/-3, which is what I am going to have them set at once I get the S1's in.

Correct. Ted B was at the shop when Shiv tuned my S1's a week ago. To get max HP out of these (while shifting your curve to the right) you have to really "get retarded". Mine are installed 0/0, and after one week with them I can say that they are very torquey/quick spool. Great daily driver setting - going stop light to stop light. Absolutely zero valve train noise, very lopey. I'm curious to see how -1/-3 does for you, I think that is going to be a great way to go.

How did your numbers look next cars with similar mods running more standard 272's?

I don't have the graphs scanned in but I did 275HP. Pretty similar to what people do with standard 272's. Difficult to compare because I have minimalist mods - not many people to compare with anymore. Without a cat, with 10.5HS, with O2 housing, and standard 272's people due 290's on pump (93). So taking in to account that I have a cat, no 10.5/O2, and cams timed 0/0 with relatively advanced lobe centerlines - I think I did well. But this is all speculation - nothing very scientific.
