What are you using to tune ? What profile cams are going to be used with this set up ?

If they weren't charging and arm and a leg for the complete new turbo FP/BR would sell a ****-ton more.

Were these pulls on race fuel?

ok...here we go... the graphs finally, i had to sift through them...

here are the mods for the car...

perrin fmic
nisei lower pipe, injen intake and upper pipe
fuel pump
stock injectors
megan o2 housing
BR ported and coated manifold
ebay turboback, with resonated test pipe, catless
sun ignition box
stock plugs
aps bov

first graph is with the car tuned on the stock turbo on 93 octane at apprx 23 psi, overlayed with the same map, with the green thrown on the car, and boost set to the closest peak i could get, notice the difference in the boost curves (green)

#1

and this is the green ix just as above in pull number one, and then with a slight retune for it same apprx boost, just adjusted timing and fueling..

Overall, for those gains on our dyno, i think this turbo is very worthwhile, and I like the delivery (like stock) of the turbo...

cheers

my car acts very similiar to the stock ix you have there.... not as soon but after 6500 it falls off hard, its a little better on meth....

i like how that doesn't happen too much with the green.

did you dyno it to 8k by any chance? many of us just ride out 4th, im wondering if instead of cruising up to 8k there might be a little more pull in the upper rpms.

thanks!

whats wierd is they charge 1000 for the build and 300 for the core charge...

what if you dont send back your turbo? then ya only pay 1300, are they going to bill ya another 400? the core charge should cover that so they dont... unless they say if its not returned by this day xxx the you get charged the remainder.. idk?

hee he....

---------------------

i think it will hold its power up top, maybe drop off slightly...

i think its a pretty good turbo for those that want to stay bolt on..

we will be doing S1 cams from GSC and some alky in a month or so..

I think with the refurbished deal, you would not get charged extra, but you do get a used / refurbished turbo. for 1.7k, you get a brand new turbo....

That's a really odd boost curve. In fact, the Green I tuned had the same exact boost curve at first until I tuned it to spool more like a stock turbo. With the initial boost curve the torque curve was really crappy imho.

What where you using to control boost?

it has a halman pro rx, and was barely far enough behind to bother with lean spooling it etc... to bring it back... the curve was more powerful through the entire band, so i figured hey!

Ah ok MBC. Yea I tuned it via ecu-boost control so I was able to bring the earlier part of the curve up.

Looks like you got good results anyway. Put some injectors on that thing!

Haven't read the whole thread, but wanted to add a link to a bov test we did from stock IX metal to the Forge Evo15 with hard spring. Totally changed the outcome.
