Boost leak at throttle body (throttle linkage)..How to fix?
Ive got a boost leak that stops when I play with the throttle linkage. there doesnt seem to be a way to tighten it up. Any suggestions?
This has been covered I know cause it happend to me too. The shaft seals are bad most likly. Mine were and it happens commonly. You can buy them at MachV and youll need to pull the TB off the car and take it apart to put the new ones in

Sorry I should have searched first. I just read over this:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...+throttle+body
And am ordering seals asap. Im assuming that it will be OK until then?

I had to do this too. And there is a trick for the seals. What you do when your ready to put the new ones in is:
Put the shaft in backwards (like put it in the wrong side), put some of the grease on the seal and shaft and put it over the shaft. Tap it in with a deep will socket (think I used 11mm). Pull the shaft back out and install it the correct way, then put the 2nd seal in.
Also, once you put the shaft in and both seals are in, try not to pull it back out, because I pulled mine back out and the seal came with it. So plan for that.
The point of this is that it is kinda hard to put the seals in because its hard to just line them up in the hole correctly. By using the shaft, it keeps the seals straight.
Good luck with doing it, its really not that hard. And don't forget to mark your TPS, thats important too.

Let me ask you this how often is your car going to build 20+ psi of boost when the throttle plate is closed. Open the throttle and do a leak test with the motor at TDC, if it leaks then , thats when you have a problem. So many people waste their time and money replacing those seals.

^^Mine was leaking no matter where the throttle was. Plus the seals are cheap and it doesn't really take that long. Good learning experience too, I had never taken apart a TB until then.
