IX Evos are very senestive to knock
I thought it was the opposite? IX's are NOT as prone to knock than the VIII's due to the extra cooling passages in the head.

This is true - the engine itself and larger turbo make the car less prone to actual knock

The ecu however is more sensitive and will pull timing faster - particularly at high rpms

When you add the cams - the car picks up a lot of low end power but it is hard to make large gains up top (on pump gas) without seeing knock counts

I will post the final dyno numbers later this evening - the sheet actually came out really good

Comparing the dyno to my IX tune w/o cams+cat, looks like the cams+TP added about about 30lbs torque and 500rpm and +10WHP. Thanks for sharing. It's helpful to know for my cams decision.

This is fairly uniform

With alchy or race gas the gains would be slightly higher

Final results

You can see that the car is making huge TQ and decent power - at a low boost level - the cams help you make great power without jacking up the boost as much

conversly with the cams IF you jack up the boost it can get more knock happy

I think the taper is better on the finished product
