Speedlimit,

Do you know what the Road Dyno plus with datalogging costs? I emailed the US link from their site and am still awaiting a reply...

It seems like I remember Shiv dynoing a couple Lancers with very similar modifications that had 10 or 15 whp difference. There very well could be a variable out there we have yet to identify.

Base line

Having a few years and cars in my life has taught me that some days things run better than on others. Pushing over 2hp per cu in makes for a sensitive situation with lots of significant variables. ARe you using the same fuel as your friend? Could your head or a plug have a little particle of carbon that is causing pre-ignition? These are just two examples there are a multitude possible.

On the certain side is the "learning ECU" that further complicates things. Even my wifes dia runs differently if she has been driving it than it does after I drive for a while. Also on the sure side, these cars are still new so of course break in is going to affect things. The 3g gt I dumped to make way for my VIII ran stronger and stronger during the first couple thousand miles it took to "loosen and seat things."

As a way of establihing a more meaniful picture of your cars output cosider running a few same dyno different day runs to see what kind of deviations you generate. After all is said and done it is rather difficult to hit a moving target (so to speak) so you need to establish an accurate baseline before you can really tune. It seems to me that Shiv does some learning runs before he dynos for tunning purposes.

Best of luck with your rides. GAWD these cars are fun.
