the only thing i can remotely consider is they messed w/ the grounding or voltage line for the o2 (yes far fetched)

the o2 sensor does route from the back of the dash and down to the bottom via chassis hole. if the audio shop just randomly tapped some power/ground lines without know where it goes, they are complete morons.

any necessary power and ground are all on the radio harness themselves. any new power thats needed (highly unlikely) shoulda been tapped from the cabin fusebox to be safe.

I thought of these as well, I am assuming that they are a competent shop. Thanks for the replies so far guys. I am going to bring the car back this week. This is just weird. Only when I turn the radio on is when the CEL comes on. I reset it and drive without the radio on and it nevers comes on.

Have them check where they mounted the external brain.

Chances are they mounted it underneath either front seat. Depending what type of screw was used, they could have shorted a wire by screwing the unit down and pinching something. There isnt any wires, a half-way decent installer using a integration harness, to screw up behind the dash bezel.

Good luck.

It is mounted under the front passenger seat.

Thank you, I will check that as well!

Just got back from the audio shop. They double checked everything and all seems like their work is fine. Should I replace the O2 sensors? Help!

Dude, you're worrying too much. They probably thought they'd pimp your ride and wired the volume knob to your boost control (it now goes to 11) ... j/k

Seriously, though - What CEL is the car throwing? If you don't have one of the el-cheapo e-bay readers, then either take it to a local Auto-Zone or Pep-Boys and have them read the CEL for you, or have a dealer read it for you. Without knowing what the code is, it's kind of hard to figure out what went wrong...

whooops, nevermind. It would help if I read the whole post before posting myself, wouldn't it?

I would double check the grounding and from where they pulled power for the HU. No point in taking it back to the shop that installed the HU. Either check it yourself, or take it to another, reputable shop.

Brought it back to the original shop and they couldn't find anything. I might try another shop. Codes still showing up! Help!
