Aeromotive A1000 pump+stock intake=over kill?

What do you guys think of running an A1000+the stock in tank for a car running 500whp or so. I know the A1000 is rated at 800hp for FI applications, but is this just a complete waste?

thanks for your help.

edit: i kept writing intake instead of IN TANK sorry

From what I remember from my domestic days, that pump was only good for like 600hp with forced induction. If your going to buy an external pump by a Weldon

It all comes down to the regulator and what it is set at. You will never use it to it's full potential thats all.

All I gotta say is 1110 horsepower with countless 800+ hp from 2 supra/denso intank fuel pumps.
