2.0 = lag + top end

2.3 = better response/spool with relatively compromised top end

best bet is to find people with both set ups and drive the cars yourself....things on paper (typed) are usually very different in real life...

With a 50trim get the 2.3L.

There wont be any need to rev past 8k with a 50trim.

The 2.3L will give better spool, more torque and more off boost power.

2.3 FTW, in the street there is nothing like it, massive spoolup on the 50Trim BTW, massive torque.

spool difference is less than 300rpm closer to 200rpm not the claimed 500 rpm you seen on this board. However the extra 10% tq when nonboosting will get you to full boost faster. If I were to do it over again I'll stay w/ the 2.0L and leave the balance shaft. I don't race and this is a daily driven car or used to be, now it just sit in the garage.

If your going to go with a 50 trim, then i wouldnt even worry about building your motor, The Turbo spools so quick considering its power output, keep the stocker lowerend and build the head/valvetrain thats where you going to get most of your power any how, the only that you would you'll see a great improvement with some headwork and cams. save your money is my suggestion.

Top end is what you want anyways. You CAN rev a build 2.0 to 10k. but its expensive to make that setup. Your talking a balanced crank, knife edge and all that crazy **** that they do! If you absolutely need a built motor, for that setup i would go with a fully built 2.2L stroker, Still revs just as high your still using a evo crank rods ECT, and not getting into those redicuolous piston speeds that the 2.3L get into!

2.3 for the street.

Coming from someone who had both...................i would def. go 2.3 for the street.

if you want to just drag race the car............2.0

With the 50trim and built 2.0 it should be a good combo.. I was on a 2.0 with a 35R and after going to a 2.3 theres no turning back Having experience with both setups I can tell you 2.3 is is so much more fun to drive and the torque is amazing. 90% you will probably want more power in the future so when you do upgrade the turbo the 2.3 will be ready for it

well im shootin for a 50trim or a 3065. so i want to make up the lag time.

lets say stock hits full boost at 4k
50trim at 4500
3065 at 5k

stock motor rev's 7000 rpm
i want to make up that lag time so i want to rev 8k now. to have that full powerband back but with a bigger turbo.

Or you could go with the 2.3L and have each of those turbos you mentioned spool up about 500rpm faster, then rev that to 7500rpm. Same powerband, less lag, more torque =
