Excedy or Carbonetics??
The carbonetic twin i had wouldnt hold my 600whp car. It would slip in 4th. I got the tripple and it works great. Drives super smooth and is a good bit cheaper than the exedy tripple. I also had an exedy twin ceramic that held my 600whp for over a year and was half worn when i took it out. Ceramic is a bit grabby and harder to launch than the carbon. Twin ceramic is good for the price though. It holds more power than they say. Carbonetic twin holds less power than they say.
Thats my experience.

bumping this one back up again. Planning on getting either an Exedy twin or Carbonetics twin. Leaning towards the carbonetcis. Anyone else want put in their 2 cents?
Also i heard that the carbonetics twin can come with carbon discs or cermatallic discs. Is there much of a price difference? Is the carbon highly recommended over the ceramatallic?
TIA

I just recently installed the ATS carbonetics on my 6spd. Took a little getting used to due to the quick engagement. Haven't really tested her shifting at high rpms yet. Will post up new results once I have.
And Not to mention the people who can't drive and abuse the crap out of there car and complain about the clutch not lasting..
Sorry for my ranting.
I agree.. There are so many mix reviews on clutches.. Even people who are sponsored will use a different clutch in there cars and not tell anyone.. Its so stupid and people also are saying what's better with out any experience or what a shop the believe is the **** only because they don't have an account with that other company. I feel like you can only trust your self.

On my previous Cars (680BHP Supra) was Exedy double Carbon the first clutch ... it was very noisy, cold slipping, and on drag overheated and melted together. Second Clutch was Ogura Racing Clutch 3disk ceramic. Noisy too, very light pedal, absolutly no slip, only on/off switch, total unusable for the street, but holding very well.
On my Mitsu EVO9 (now about 450BHP)
First stock clutch was hold fine 26000km, second HKS GD Clutch double was fine, very light pedal, not so noisy like Exedy or ORC, very smooth slip on street, holding fine the power. Trouble start was the drag, while it overheats and the midle metal plate has bend. So the clutch was not opening full and it was very hard to get first or reverse gear on place, it was still splipping. So i decided to repair it with the repair kit. It was great again, but after two weekends of uphill runs (exactly 8starts with launch control) and the clutch was bend again.
So i am now thinking what to do. I have no trust to Exedy, ORC is a torture for every day use and HKS has trouble with construction and overheating the center plate.
What would you do ?
