Not holding boost?

This only happens in 4-6th gear, wen i shift casually into 4th 5th or 6th gear around 3000 rpms with no boost , as i go WOT and i hit about 15psi on my 3065 at around 4500 rpms my bov will release the boost. if i downshift into any gears so my rpms are higher, it will hold 22psi in all gears. i thought it was my greddy rs bov was just **** but now i have a tial and it still does this. wat do you think the problem is?

Is the tial recirculating? Did you do a boost leak test?

Get rid of the aftermarket bov, switch to stock and see if you have anymore problems, non recirculated bov = junk. Are you tuned?

Try putting the stock bov on and see if your problem is gone.

you dont have your stock parts? all you would need is the uicp, and intake tube.

Hmm...this is interesting. I would say the BOV is not the problem if it holds 22psi in the other gears. I mean the BOV doesnt know what gear you are in. Could it perhaps be a misfiring issue? Do you ever get a CEL or anything? I know when I started throwing my P0300 codes a while back the car was actually misfiring and for the breif period when the engine didnt get fuel it would do the same as letting off the gas, which is buck forward and blow off the compressed air. Not saying this is what is going on but if your clutch is new then this is a slight possibility.

For testing purposes just eliminate the BOV from the equation by using a block-off plate on the UICP flange. Be careful however and keep your eye on the boost gauge.
