Andifidie,

Just my word of advise, I would have not driven the car under that condition if I suspected a engine blow up, you could had throw a rod on the side of the block then you would have been in deep trouble.

It was also very precipitated on your part to tow the car to the dealer first thing without consulting with other people of at least giving a try and have a look to the engine compartment.

Without looking at your car and basicly by default I can tell you that mostlikely a IC pipe blew up or a clamp came loose, nothing to worry about.

As per the 7500rpm and the injectors maxing out? well, what can I said, there are thousnad of people still running on stock injectors with many many more mods and no a single issue, in fact many of them on stock fuel pumps as well.

Please let us know what the dealer finds. Good luck!

Carlos

I didn't check mine when it first happened and I was scared ****less... The dealer popped it back on for me with a slightly better (still ****ty, it blew off 3 more times before I finally got a T-bolt clamp) clamp AND gave me a pass for a free l.o.f. Maybe I just had a nice dealer, but 300 bucks?

Let us know what you find eventually.
In your case I want to bet money the turbo ingested something solid causing the compressor first to get damage and consequently to gain enough play to snap the shaft.

I have done the shaft snapping by accidentally leaving the boost line unplug and doing a hard launch in a traffic light on a 91 Eclipse GSX.

Keep in mind that most of the Mitsubishi turbos specially the 16g and 14bcan spin in excess of 170000rpm when overboosted.

Hey, Sorry for not replying you guys!

First off, I know how to wrench on my rides you fools, how do you think all those mods appeared on my car, haha.

The dealer (south coast mitsubishi) is a mod friendly dealer for all you "newbies" haha I called them up as soon as i realized what the problem was, they told me I was right and could come pick it up, they washed it for me and everything, free of charge.

Than I installed some aluminum shifter base bushings, perrin short shifter, and buschur underhood bushings. All awesome mods.

Thanks everyon for your help, and to the flammers for doing what they do best.

Also , I couldnt check out the engine bay because there was no room to pull over and I had just drove a few miles with the hose off to the tow shop, but the tow was free so it was ok.

sounds like koji might of made it to rich and you might of messed up one of your spark plugs causing your motor to only run on 3 cylinders. there's a word for that but i forgot what it was.

FYI "precipitate" means to change state and drop out... commonly reffering to water vapor condensing and creating precipitation, otherwise known as rain.

OH NO!

Thats gonna cost you big time, sounds like you need to go to NAPA and purchace a $7.99 t- bolt clamp for a complete hose clamp rebuild.

Dont take it to the dealer or else you will have a spun bearing when all that happened was a hose clamp!

Yep. That happened to me yesterday on the way home from work. Put the UICP back on and was on my way. No metered air flow = no fuel = no idle and engine dies.

No, I didnt have a chance to look in the engine compartment, I was 30 min late for work in the first place, so i didnt have time to mess around with it, I have a good relationship with my service advisor at the dealership i go to, so i was no worried about being "assraped" , But, I went ahead and ordered some IC piping for up top to help get rid of the issue, and make things shiney:-)
