EVO 8 Burning Oil?

For the first 3000 miles I didn't burn any oil. Then I put a short ram intake on. My gas milage is about 22 mpg, but over the last 2000 miles I have burned a qt of oil, since putting on the intake. Makes no sence to me, but is it possible the intake has increased oil consumption? Could the increase suction pressure do it?

Please help.

Thanks

Very unlikely. Probably a change in driving.

actually it should in no way burn any more oil with an intake on it. Have you been getting on it more now with the intake and after you broke her in ? Those higher revs and more stress can cause oil to burn. Whether its normal oil comsumption or not has to to do with how much. I have about 2500 miles and have noticed I've used about a 1/4 of a quart- very acceptable. I do drive her hard.

The dealer told me that 750 per quart is acceptable. I get 2500 per quart. I recently dyno'ed at 202 on 91 octane on Vishnu tunings dyno. I am currently the highest stock evo they have tested. If you are only burning a 1/4 quart each 2K of driving thats great for a 4cyl turbo car...

Heck Im pretty happy with my consumption.
