gains from a test pipe? any issues with CELs?
i'm considering going with a test pipe for an upcoming track day. any thoughts on how much power the car will gain? likelihood of a CEL? will the CEL go away after reinstalling the cat? and finally, is timing or boost pulled when the ecu detects emissions problems?
removing the cat will make more power.
and heres a thread on the fix for NO CEL. ive done it, and I know others have too, works like a charm!

the sparkplug anti-fouler mod is a great mod. altho its cheap at $5.. but it still requires you to drill and hone..
try this.. http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38
Its already made and ready go. save yourself some time

if you do end up getting a CEL your ecu will not pull timing or go into limp mode but when you reinstall the cat the CEL wont just go away you will have to get the code cleared. Autozone will do it for free...
BTW - I ran the $5 sparkplug antifouler on my VIII for 3.5 years w/ no issues and have been running the same antifouler setup on my IX for almost 6 months w/ no problems.
