Weird whining noise at 3500 rpm :(

Hello, guys.

I am getting that weird noise from somewhere to the left on the drivers side everytime i am at 3500 to 4000 rpms . I found an exaust leak in my BR turboback where it slides in the hi-flow cat and i think the noise become more mellow when i snug it back in. But still.... It might be a separate issue i dont know . Sometimes car boggs down a little at those rpms. Once i press harder on gas it goes away, or maybe i just don't hear it anymore
??????

Please,help!

Oh its an 04.

This sounds like it may be drivetrain related. Find a straight abandoned road somewhere, bring the car up to speed and then cut the engine off and carefully let the car cruise straight while you listen for any noises. If you don't hear anything then its the engine making the noise. Check under the car for anything that is rattling.

Well it only whines when i step on the gas and go through about 3500 rpms, when i let go and its going down nothing happens - its only when i climb those rpms! Also i feel it comes from somewhere on the left side. I tried to switch the engine off while driving but even if u turn the key off the engine is still running ..... So maybe turbo?

Is this happening just at the threshold of boost? Whereas if you make boost all the way, you don't get it? If so, it might be your clutch.
