What engine for a 37R

Hey guys as the title states which engine is better suited for a 37R, a 2.0l or a 2.3l. I know a lot of the fastest guys using the gt42r are using the 2.0l but what about with the 37r? Would a stroker be more worth it?

That honestly all depends on what you use the car for.

The reason im asking is because the 2.0l can rev to about 9.5k where as a stroker can rev to 8k. Most people with huge turbos rather have the extra revs buts thats usually with a GT40R or GT42R. On the other hand turbos such as the GT35R are said to be best mated with a stroker kit. Now where does the 37R fall in this spectrum.

I love my 2.3 woth 37R for a street car. Buschur put together a monster street car / drag set-up with this combo for me. However, if I do go to a larger turbo I will go with their 2.0.

i used to think the strokers where always the best way to go. starting to think otherwise now!

depends on what you want. the 2.0 will problably give you better miles to the gallon as you wont be in the boost so much!

and your only have to shift down a couple of cogs to get back in the power band!

Chris.

Street use --- stroke it
Drag --- 2.0

However, I just saw Memo's car which was built and tuned by Buschur (2.3w/37r) and according to him the car almost spools as fast as his old set up with a 35r. If you're looking to race on the highway I would probably stick to a 2.0 for that extra 1500 rpms...

Thare are a few 2.5l's flying arround. (2.4l block and crank, either bored cylinders for the extra .1 or ofset welding/ginding of the crank)

Please correct me if I am wrong on this but...
i think you would have to get your tranny modified to be able to shift at 9.5k. the stocker will deny you when its reving that high. The Buschur Racing Bushwacker trans upgrade will take care of that for you.
