nothing wrong with gt35r on pump (91 oct). you just have to drive it differently, more agressive more committing... when you want to kill, KILL... no hesitation nor holding back.

Im happy with the 35r on pump gas, at 22lbs my car is making 456 whp and 330 tq but it is a world of difference at higher boost. at 31 lbs of boost the car made 585 whp and 440 tq. I say get the 35r just incase you want to throw some race gas in the car and take it to the track one day.

GT35R is primarily a race gas/alcohol suitued turbo. If you plan to run race gas or meth/alcohol injection, its a great idea. If you plan to run pump gas alone everyday and never usually run race gas or equivalents, I would definitely get something smaller, such as a 50trim or even a Green.

obviously 2sloevo has, but who else???

its really not that bad...22psi by 4200rpm.

Some people want 450whp on pump, but they want like 550-600 on race gas.
sure a 30r can give you the same or close numbers on pump with a quicker spool, but they don't give you the peak power when you need it.

Just because someone has a large turbo, doesnt mean they HAVE to have methonal or alky or race gas all the time, you dont HAVE to beat on the car.

a 35r on pump isnt bad imo, its not even a laggy turbo...i say you should get it

what are you driving that is hitting 22psi on a 35r by 4200rpm's?

Those are some awesome numbers....but it doesnt seem that you have a stock motor?

I was going to mention that as well. ....22psi by 4200rpms.. no. I dont even think the 2.3L guys are getting 22psi by that. Certainly no stock motor 2.0 EVO will do that.

Here is a thread on ACTUAL LOGS of GT35R's. Many examples provided. There are tons of 2nd gear/3rd gear logs. All the 3rd gear runs were between 4600-5000rpm.

Good horsepower, but junk torque.

91 or 93 pump? With 93 pump no meth I was able to run 26psi on the 35R. The lag is there but it screams like hell above 4500RPM. If you want to go from stop light to stop light then get a smaller turbo. For any speeds above 60mph the 35R is where it really shines. A tuned stock evo with just cams will keep up with the 35R in 1st,2nd and 3rd gear but once you hit 4th gear its over You have to decide what your goals are... I have no regrets running 35R on the 2.0 since most of the time I go WOT is on the freeway not in the city.

I had the gt3076r and the MIGHTY 35R. If I had to do it again it would be stock turbo, 35r. Nothing in between. LAG is overrated, no one drives ***** out under 5 grand. You have to be above that. If you plan on never using race gas or meth then stay in the school yard(50 trim 76r 71r). 35r is for when you are ready to come out and play with the big kids. With a 35r you can make 400-440 whp without even trying, and 500 plus with 28psi or more. A 50 trim making 500whp is almost if not out of its effiency range. MY FRIEND... throw some METH or C16 and come out and Play!
