having problems with the TTP Engineering DP. Please Help!!!

I installed this Dp that I had bought from a fellow member about 2-weeks ago and I hear scratching noises from the DP. The person who sold this to me said not to use the stock springs bolts but to use the straight bolts that came with the DP to stop the rubbing of the DP. I want to know if I were to use heat wrap on the dp, would it stop the noises and banging or do I get a dp that is known to fit perfectly fine on the Evo 9's. I want a 3 inch dp on my car that has no issues but if I have to get a smaller one that fits like a glove then I guess I will have to do so. Any recommendations?

Yeah, but the dp still hits the cross bars! I also was told that even if use spacers it's going to help at all because the tranny is still in the way.

Cross bar??? If its what im thinking of yes just put about 3 washers on each side and it should clear... thats a maybe though because it worked with my old AMS DP but the new DP with my AMS 3076 kit I had to just take the bar off all together.

So ur saying to put three extra washers on each bolt that holds the cross bars? If that is what ur saying it does make some sense.

Thats correct... If your down pipe is hitting the cross bar depending on how much just put about 3 washers in between the body of the car and the bar then put the bolts on and tighten them down. Once again thought if thats not enough and the bolts are to short then you might have to go with a longer bolt and some kind of spacer or run without the bar.

If the DP hits the crossbars, it is not installed correctly.

That's not true bro! I just installed 3-washers on each of the 3 bolts on the cross bar that's in the front and now my fitment issue's are no longer a problem any more. THX JohnEB.

My megan/TTP downpipe rubbed the oil pan now matter how much I tweaked it. It did not ever make noise though, that is odd. I got rid of it and got a DC.

We have installed over 200 units, 25% of which have been in 2006 IX. Never touched a crossmember.

You are not supposed to use the factory donut gasket which I assume you have.
