Hmmm weird how your car didnt improve with your 272 you put in.... I was going to purchase Eclipse GSX before the evo.. but I heard to many horror stories about the engine in those cars.. so it swayed me to the evo... anyways though thnxs for saying you would help me install my Fmic.. but I am pretty sure I can handle it, I just dont like valve train work.. lol And I respect your opinion you have been around these types of cars more than me... thnxs again

the NISEI is so damn huge, it doesn't surprise me that there was a significant loss in spool up.

Take a look at the ETS intercooler on special now, weighs about the same as stock and not excessively large either. It clears all the factory beams as well, so it's not as MASSIVE as the Nisei, when I get it put on, I will post opinions on spool, etc.

to answer the OP, you are increasing density of incoming air, so you won't need a tune (like someone said, it's like getting a tune for a cold day!) However, I'd advise adding some cams to your mix and then tuning it accordingly.
