Cams, Fuel Pump, Afr???

I installed my HKS 272/272 the other day and drove it home. At idle my AFR was like 14.7. The next day I installed my Walbro 255 and now I idle at like 15.0. I thought that after I installed the pump I would get more rich not more lean. Whats up with this, anyone have any Ideas? Also I never hear my Walbro whine. Seems like in my buddies car you could hear the pump whine when it started to prime up. Im just wondering if the FP is working properly.

The walbro only wines after a while, if it is still new your not gonna hear it. What are your AFR's while running or in boost?

Well I dont get my tune from AMS until august so I set the boost back to like 15psi and I have not got on it and dont plan to. But when i start to excell. it does start to drop down to like 13 (very light excell.) so it is getting fuel. But i just think its weird that its more lean than rich now at idle. thanks for letting me know about the whine that makes me feel a little better cause right now it is dead silent. but i installed the cams, the car was drove about 10 miles (ran and idled surpisingly well) then garaged. the next day I installed the pump and turn on the car and drove around the block. thats pretty much the history to date.

no i have never been tuned i am running off the stock map. but the thing is on the stock map with the stock fp i was idling and running a little bit more rich than i am now with the stock map and the walbro 255. I was always told that if i installed that pump before my tune the only thing would happen is i would get more rich but now im more lean. the curious if this is normal or not or if i should really even worry about it.

Your idle AFR will vary with fuel trims and weather conditions. It should always end up at ~14.5, but may take some time to get there after something changes. Driving around the block would not have been long enough to be able to draw any meaningful conclusions.

well like i said i am getting a custom reflash done by chris from ams in august. i live in hawaii or i prob. could get it done sooner. do you think i should drive it around nice and easy for a bit so the ecu levels out before i give it to chris to tune? my plan was just to not drive it until august when we fly chris out. what do you guys think?

p.s. i dont trust "eflashes" because we had a guy out here in hawaii blow his engine from one of those. im sure there are some good tuners out there that can do it safely but i dont see spending the money on one when i can drive one of my other cars until l have ams do it in august. but like i said what do you guys think?
