Hks F-con V Pro
Yeah, becoming a Master Shop is difficult..even more difficult than being a direct HKS dealer (which in and of itself has very strict criterion).
You must have an AWD dyno for one, as well as go through the tuning seminars, etc...something we have no plans for.
However, we are an Electromotive dealer, and might be playuing with the DTA system pretty soon as well, after hearing some good things about it. We already are capable tuners of Motec, as well as other units.
But don't worry guys, a user tunable ecu is on the horizon soon, and I think you'll all be very pleased with its performance, ease of use, and price.

any other fuel systems people are having good luck with? I'm a self-tuner so i'm looking for osmething I can do at home weither it be with a laptop or a remote of it's own. I'd look into a motec becasue i know they are good, but jsut the fact that fast and the furious promoted it I can't purchase it. I dispise that movie ever being created. I got sick of all the eclipse after that movie that I got rid of my GSX. (that and the fact that it caused my bluebook to fall $5000) in a few months
i had electromotive tech2 on my corolla and it was pretty good. became outdated however and the tech3 is supposedly a world of difference and a lot better. my mechanic as well as a few other friends of mine are running DTA ecu's. they are the most popular setup among the diehard racers down here. the race version has sensors for traction control wet/dry pavement, has launch control, controls boost with various settings. my mechanics 3sgte powered corolla puts down 430 hp on pump gas with all stock internals. most standalones are very similar however - the most important factor is gonna be the ease of use and knowing how to tune it. if you plan on doing it urself, then that doesnt matter, cuz you will teach it to urself and play with it endlessly.
i am a tune it your self kind of guy so i hear what you are saying. there are many options out there right now for people like us. there is the XEDE from VISHNU which you can buy the software and tune yourself and TURBOXS is working on a UTEC which is a great option for a good price. i have used the UTEC before and it is one of the nicest piece of electronic out there. but if money is not a problem than there are many great options out there which some of them are the TEC3, DTE, MOTEC, AEM, LINK, HALTEC etc...
the MOTEC is by far the nicest of them all but the price is way up there. the LINK is a great unit but it does have some glitches. AEM is another great stand alone but the only problem is that AEM is never on time with releasing it so you will need to fab your own harness. the one thing people must keep in mind is that an ECU is only as good as the person who tune it. you can buy a MOTEC system for $7000 but if the guy who tunes it is a moron than your car will run like a POS. your best bet is to talk to a tuner you trust and respect and try to find out what they like working on. i myself will go with a TEC3 due to the fact that Z1 (Adam) is 3 hours away from me and he knows how to tune this ECU.
