Couple of things.

First, the filter kit we sell made 6 whp on the 2WD dyno, not 4 whp

Second, Tim, the filter comes with a 304 stainless steel bracket for mounting it. Unless you got one of our super early kits it would have been in the box with the filter. ALL kits are now shipped with this stainless steel bracket.

One other quick thing.

380 whp through the stock MAS with our filter kit on our EVO is pretty good I would say.

390 whp/390 ft lbs of torque on the stock turbo through our filter kit with the AEM EMS.

505 whp through out filter kit with our turbo kit on the car.

Today we will see even more.

The filter works and as a side note is only $65.

Wow who revived this old thread.

Well I have the super early filter since I brought it about a year ago, so no bracket. I was kind of hoping it came with the MAF pipe.
On that note, does the MAF pipe come with the bypass valve hose?
Someone else I talked to on here said that they got one but they weren't sure if it came with the IC pipe or the MAF pipe.

I purchased the RMR intake several weeks ago. When I first installed it I did as the instructions asked and unpluged the negative battery terminal. I installed the filter and reconnect the battery and allowed the car to idle for 10 min. On the test drive I did notice lose in power so I can back checked everything out. Next I unplugged the positive cable for about 20 min. and reconnected and let the car idle for 10 more minutes. Took the car for another test drive and it felt back to normal. I recently put the stock box back on to see if I can notice a difference. This was several days ago and must say the car feels the same so I may put the RMR back on. I hope this helps.

The hose does come with the MAS pipe to go back to the BOV. The bracket comes with the filter, not really needed with the MAS pipe as it is fairly rigid when it is installed.

Issue of stock cold air intake versus open filter in the hot engine bay... I would think if you start off with hotter air the end result is higher temperature then with starting with colder air...

Thats a whole other thread ... Buschur knows DSM so you can go either way...

I still would go stock for stock turbo

Tim,

Sorry about the mess with the order. Of all the guys I don't want to have problems with it is someone so involved with the EVO community as you are.

I ordered my BR intake a few days ago; so I'll report my findings as soon as I get it. Unfortunately I've had no word on shipping and my bank account hasn't been charged. I called today and was told they are in stock and should have shipped same day; so we'll see.

Hopefully it will get here soon and I can give some input on the quality and performance. I'm also getting a custom Dynoflash shortly afterwards so I'll report differences after the tune as well.

Now all I can do is wait for the intake to arrive!

David,

I know **** happens. It just seems to happen to me a lot.
I think it was mostly miscommunication.

Thanks
Tim

will having or deleting the closed air box have an effect on the BOV (re-circ) sound? I read that getting an open intake system like a HKS RS intake will make the recirculating BOV sound just as loud as Vent to Atmosphere (is that true as well?).

so if you put an air box back on the intake (maybe the HKS kansai cf air box as EVOFAN0717 posted - http://vividracing.securesites.net/...fc5a40b7d04eff4 ), will it make your bov not heard? Sorry if my ignorance annoys you...

Just got the BR intake installed over the weekend and it's pretty nice. Seems to wake the car up a little; not too much on the butt dyno. I'm sure after Al tunes it I'll see a little more from it. All in all a good product so far.

Yes Johny719, it makes the intake and BOV very loud. I never heard them before and now you can't miss it.
