btw this flutter is called "compressor surge" if you wanted to sound all smart and what not, you would definitely say compressor surge. Chicks dig guys who call it compressor surge I'm told.....

btw, your car was surging with the stock box on, it will surge with any intake, etc. The reason it does this is because the spring is stiff on the diverter valve to allow big boost without leaking. If you were to put a softer spring in there the car wouldn't surge, but you would have a leaking diverter valve at high pressure, which would make the turbo work harder to achieve your boost setting, which would cause heat, which would cause knock and knock folks.....is bad.

Unless you're knock knock knockin on heaven's door, then it's ok.....

Got out the screw-driver today and put the BOV on the right way this time. She runs like a dream now.

intake flutter

Lifting at light throttle that causes a flutter is not compressor surge! Our turbos are not making boost prior to the flutter. They still pulling vaccuum.

you should try to switch to a bov which is adjustable.

To much flutter is usually a sign of the bov which is adjusted to tight. install a softer spring.
The valve my stay open during idle however under boost it will be forced closed.

The DV has to be orientated in a way where the bottom port goes to the UICP and the side port goes to the Intake.

With the stock box the DV will sort of sit sideways with the Injen up and down

Just remember bottom port UICP or to the boost pipe and the side port to the air Intake or air inlet

had to bring this back from the dead. Since moving to the tephra v7 (doubt this has anything to do w/ it, just something to note) as Im now getting some serious fluttering... I have the entire Injen kit, and mods in my sig. I understand that its normal to flutter during partial throttle, but Im getting some flutter @ WOT.
3rd - if I start @ 2000 it will flutter, but if I start @ 2500 it will be fine...
4th - same thing, if I start before 3000, it will flutter, but if I start after, it wont...
obviously, same with 5th, before 4000.

Ive logged my turbo while it surges, (only once, but 4th gear) and I dont think this is surge.
Checked the BOV, and is on there correctly.

I noticed that some1 mentioned this is NOT good...

Any ideas as to whats goin on here? Heres a log...

TIA
