Injen Intake/Flutter

I have a Injen intake on with the stock blow off valve, and I get a violent engine flutter when under partical throttle. Is there a way to solve this problem? I run 24 psi so Im thinking about cutting the boost back down to 20psi to see if that will help, but dont really want to do that.

It's not the intake, and it's not how much boost you run. The intake is just making it more noticeable. You simply can't do partial throttle acceleration with partial boost when you have a strong bov (stocker is strong).

yea, its deff just from the intake being more open and noticable. You should also here the turbo spooling which ppl tend to say its like a supercharger sound lol...

I've got the same intake and while it is louder, like Warr said if you only give partial throttle you'll get flutter.

So I take it that there's no way to fix it or reduce it. I miss smooth power

get a tune if you havent... your losing power anyways if you just put that on w/o a tune. YES my VIII got massive jerk when i had it on.. havent put it on my IX yet and imagine i'd get the same result once i put it on...

Tune,TUNE, TUUUUNE

If your running 24 psi.. i'd hope that you already had it tuned and possibly considered a upgraded fuel pump

It does get annoying especially on the highway when in fifth. If I wanna just accelerate a little bit to pass someone I get flutter, but oh well. I guess it just gives me an excuse to go wot.LOL

It should only jerk if you let off when you're at part throttle. If you go WOT and let off fully, then the BOV should purge with no problem. If you're letting off the gas slowly, then it will go crazy.

Make sure you have the bov installed the right way....I had my bov in the wrong way and it made that loud flutter sound,,,

Mine flutters like crazy 4-6th gear partial or WOT. I am Tuned, it still pulls good, but the flutter is enough to make me ****tt can the whole thing. never did it before the intake.

BTW I am running at 22 psi, not huge boost by any measure.
