better strength of ourse less chance of seperation. Many shops recommend replacing them when installing cams.

Are you doing 25 on stock turbo?

I believe the question was about "rod studs" and I think that you^^ are refering to "head studs" as I do not know of anyone who pulls the oil pan to do cams

I dont think this is really an advanced topic. you would get more replies if you just posted in Evo General or Drivetrain section. Although if you are just asking if you need head studs then do some seaching, it has been covered many many times.

If you do cams, you may as well do the head studs while you're in there. As a general rule of thumb, if you aren't doing cams...stock studs=fine for stock turbo. bigger turbo=upgraded studs.

It's not necessary unless you're running higher boost. However, if you've got them and you're putting some cams in you might as well use em.

Now an opinion on upgrading rod bolds & main bearing studs!

I had the #1 rod bearing spin on a 40k engine. It looks like what caused the problem was a combination of hundreds of hours of track time, lots & lots of dyno time and the stretching of the stock rod bolts.

The stock bottom end hardware is probably fine for most people, but for high stress, high RPM use I would definitely upgrade.
