Reflash ECU's vs AFC etc...

Okay I see all the great tools out there like UTEC, XEDE and the Works/RMR reflashes... they all sound great but will it be a waste that I spent money on the EVC V and SAFC? IE: wwill they become useless?

Only problem I see with the reflashes is wouldn't you have to have your ECU sent in and reflashed EVERYtime you added another mod to the car? That could become a big hassel. Im a newbie to turbo cars but this is what I am getting from it.

I'd go with S-AFC if you going to be moding as then you can adjust each time. Once, if this could ever happen, your done moding then get the ECU tuned to you car and sell/store S-AFC later. If you go big modding though you'll be stand alone anyway. Just my .02

RMR claims that with their reflash you only need to do it once.

Why not use an S-AFC on top of a reflash that provided a better base map than we have stock?

thats what I wanted to see! But one more question... is the reflash better than having an Safc and EBC?

It can provide a better/smoother curve because you can play with boost, fuel, and timing vs. just fuel and boost... of course this is done by the tuner, so you aren't actually doing anything. It also cuts on tuning time you'll have to spend with the SAFC and EBC. If you have access to a dyno and know how to tune or trust a local shop to do it, then then you can easily take advantage of piggy-back units.
