MBC, Check Engine Light

When I cap off the wastegate actuator, my check engine comes on, why is that?
Anyone else have this problem, and if so how dose one get around it, alos when I uncap it, it runs just a bit shaiky

Intake Manifol --- T --- one to BOV the Other to MBC then to wastegate.

Huh? Why would you ever cap off the wga nipple? That's a critical part of the boost sytsem. You have to connect to it, not cap it off...

ok, maybe I said something wrong, I am talking about the Sensor thing that gos to the waist gate and the other one to the intake, its right under the filter/intake.

I was using the insturctings from this site that show to cap off the trubo/intake/ and 2 on the Waste Gate Actuator. then T off from the BOV and go to the wastegate,

I do understand how it works, and I am not getting any Boooms, my boost is where I want it to be,
I am just not sure what the sensor is for, and why it shows to cap it.

That's the boost control solenoid, not the wastegate actuator. The wastegate actuator is the thing you are calling the "wastegate." The wastegate is actually inside the turbo, and the wastegate actuator actuates it with a rod connected to the gold housing where the nipple is.

Capping off the BCS doesn't cause a CEL, but if you don't plug in the electrical connector, you will get a CEL.

You are not getting any Boooms??? What?

I mentioned earlier that it's the boost control solenoid (BCS). I don't know what you mean by "sensor." The boost control solenoid is the solenoid that controls boost for the stock boost system. Fancy, huh?

I don't think you were reading the diagram wrong. I consider the diagram itself to be wrong. It should not say "turbo wastegate actuator" on the BCS. That top nipple goes to the intake. The turbo and wga lines go to a tee, and one line comes from the tee to the BCS, so it's mis-labeled, imo.

ok.... ill answer ur question.. i dont like this diagram... although if your running a boost controller that is adjustable from the cabin.. i do see the reasoning. Connect the pressure side of the MBC to the nipple on the turbo elbow... and then connect the the other vacuum line comming off the MBC to the nipple on the WGA. Now... cap off the 2 nipples on the solenoid under the air filter box. And cap off the nipple on the bottom of the intake. One on the vacuum lines comming of the solenoid was going to this nipple. And after you have done all this adjust your boost (start low and work your way up). And then all should be right with your world

good luck

I have mine setup the way WickedWhtMR mentioned. I prefer using that turbo nipple instead of hacking into my BOV line, but both methods work well.
