HKS Cams

Are the cams that HKS makes, like the 264's / 272's different for a 1G/2G DSM as opposed to our EVO's?

I think his badly-contructed sentence meant to say that the HKS 264 cams are different between DSMs and the Evo, that they work, and you can get additional power even with the stock turbo. Can someone with experience confirm that the cams are different?

Yes they are different for the DSM's and evo's...how so? Not sure, but they do have different part #'s 9which HKS actually is not known to do for items that fit various models)

They are different. Locating pins for the cam gears are in different locations and the intake cam now sits where the exh. cam sits on the DSM 4G63.

Between the racing season and running the shop, I can't wait to take a vacation (in 2010!) You keeping busy?
I was thinking about the valvetrain geometry and if the take-up/let-down ramps would be affected by trying to use DSM cams (provided you could correctly relocate the cam gear pin, but I'll have to put some more thought into it.

Not be take this totally OT, but yeah, its been the same here....campaigning our car in ITS and running the shop has left me with zero social life and no time to do anything...but, dems da breaks I guess.

Ideally, you do want the fuel pump upgrade with the cam IMHO, and yes, the idle with the 272's will be on the lumy side.

As for getting the HKS cams, its not hard at all actually...places like AMS, ourselves, and a few others can easily get them for you, in your choice of lift as well (since HKS does different variations on the 262/272 cams

Martin - which ones are you guys using right now?
