Performance Package????
Performance Package????
I am taking my new evo IX to a tuner who has a Dynojet dyno and he is suggesting the following mods.
Perrin turbo back exhaust
larger injectors
Walboro fuel pump
ECU mod.
cold air intake.
What do you think about this package? How much WHP do you think I will end up with?
thanks for the help.

Awful package. I thought we already discussed this in a previous thread where I showed you the mods to get. If you forgot, then just click on my sig. Those are the mods you want for a IX, not the ones in your sig. I don't know what's wrong with shops these days.
What you need is very, very simple and cheap:
- MBC + boost gauge
- TBE
- Tune (EcuFlash)
That's all...that's it...very simple. This package you're listing is not good:
- Perrin TBE? With all the awesome TBEs in the Evo market, why in the world would they suggest Perrin? That's a Subie company as far as I'm concerned.
- Larger injectors? Ludicrous.
- Walbro? This is a good safety mod. It's not needed with stg1 mods, but there's nothing wrong with adding it.
- ECU mod? I pray that they are just referring to a flash. It's not an "ECU mod," but it does give you a tune by reprogramming the ECU with flashing software.
- Cold air intake? I don't know if anyone makes an actual cold air intake for the Evo, but if you do want to make a lot of noise with an open element filter, you can get a basic Buschur cone filter for $80 (just one example)

i would HIGHLY suggest you listen to WARRTALON. he has made it very simple on what mods will put you over 300hp at the wheels. simplicity seems to work very well on the 9's.
but to each their own...

Thanks for all the support. I am kind of new to turbo engines and I was hoping to play it safe with someone with a dyno to take care of the tuning. I asked him about the Perrin exhaust and his answer was that they offer exceptional service and that it was the reason why he prefers them. About the ECU mod, you are right, it was my mistake,he always talked about a reprograming.
I will go ahead and order right away the parts from Buschur Racing and forget about the other mods. Do you still suggest that he reprograms the ECU and test the package at this guys Dyno?

If you get one of the Buschur packages, then it comes with a tune. However, if you want to go verify everything on his dyno and/or pay him to tweak the tune, then that is definitely an option.
