hopefully picking up GT42R soon...depending on how soon my setup now sells..then little by little build it up

here what i go so far on my mind

BRGT42R(would love to have the AMS,but $7700 is a big price, and the buschur shelf 42R kit runs 8s too)
AMS built 2.0L(ross pistons,oliver rods,possibly K1 crank)
AMS race head
Jun valves,springs,retainers,272 cams
ams dual fuel rail velocity stack runner with throttle body
(8) 1000cc injectors
AMS 1000hp fuel system
buschur COP ignition
AMS Race FMIC
4in exhaust
shep tranny,t/c
stg 5 axles
driveshaft
and have to look into brakes...and any other things i may need to help it out more.

oh and a parachute for ****s and giggles,lol...
Awesome, I can't wait till it's done! Sounds like you picked a winner setup.

I have people don't plan on doing anything but drag racing with this type of setup. The 42R is not a turbo for AutoX or circuit use (too laggy).

Compare the components in the AMS and Buschur kit and you will see where the difference in price comes from.

Other then that your mod list is pretty good.

Eric
Buschurs components are the same top quality too.

You guys have more parts to your kit thats all...

You can run pump gas and still get over 450whp.

Your also forgetting about suspension this isnt a setup where you can run 8k and 7k for spring rate. Also your forgetting about the rear diff setup as well. Injector driverbox as well. If you plan on makeing any passes at all your going to need a 10 or 12 point cage.

Dump the 2 intake setup idea. Go with a ex. pump setup. Weldon with the volt reg. will do. You need a better clutch 3 disk type of setup. And alot of money for extra plates as you will go though them very fast.

Ive been in my budys 42R and drove it around all day. It wasnt all that fun to drive in stop and go traffic. Even on street tires you cant really get on it that much all they will do is spin. My budy Paul just runs slicks all wherever he goes. Everytime he takes the car out a new set gets put on.

If you dont have the money to maintain a 42R car and drive it like its ment to stick with something smaller.

Thats my .02cents.

Yea I would agree with martinez as this isnt really a streetable set-up, his post really should put things in perspective.

You have no clue. Why dont you build your evo put a 42R on run a pump gas map. Then come back on this post and tell me what your thoughts are then.

You should add a 4-inch turbo-back exhaust to your setup as well to get the most out of it.

If the car is going to be driven on the street mostly its best to run a 4in from turbo to testpipe. From there on 3.5in for quicker spool. Every rpm counts.

i have been debating on weather to go with a 42r or a 37r, i scarred that im gonna get board with the 37r the only thing left stock on my evo is the ingition/bottom end/turbo. i dont even drive it b/c i board with it (not fast enough)
i want the tires to be up in smoke in 1st and 2nd gear( not really up in smoke jus spinnin like a ****)

Hey this setup sounds like a setup that we are currently working on with the of exception of the cams and turbo kit. Looks good....you will have lots of fun building it...trust me on that.
